Starting to get a little trite August 10, 2010 P. Albone (Bedfordshire UK) I'm a big fan of Jimmy Carr, his TV work and previous DVDs. If your familiar with Jimmy Carr's previous stand up shows then you'll know exactly what to expect from this. hundreds of one liners reeled of rapid fire style. Jimmy doesn't know boundaries so theirs plenty of shock value.
I think the problem by now is that after watching many of thee previous stand up DVDs he's done you begin to get the feeling of ""i've seen this all before." It's funny at first but gets a bit boring through the middle towards the end. Where certain jokes used to seem a bit risque I now feel totaly desensitised.
It's probably worth the money in the end because you get alot of jokes for your money but don't be suprised if you turn off half way through and have had your fill.
Not his best May 8, 2010 Jim Bob (London, UK) To be honest a little disappointed compared to some of his previous DVD's - it was funny in spells but didnt make me laugh constantly as he has in the past
so funny February 14, 2010 Mr. M. Proffitt (Kent, UK) Jimmy is always funny, but this in my opinion is his best DVD yet, cracking jokes told with skill, 10 out of 10
Great in parts, but not a patch on his previous shows February 5, 2010 S. Renshaw 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm an avid fan of Jimmy Carr, have bought his previous stand-up DVDs, and absolutely loved them.
Telling Jokes is a similar format. Plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, and he proves he's still king of the heckler put-downs. You know what to expect with this guy, and if you don't like smut then you should avoid.
That said, a lot of the routine seems a little directionless, using abuse without marrying it to humour, to the point where "yeah I f****d your mum" starts to wear a little thin.
However, as a DVD it's worth buying. The good outweighs the bad, and I suspect hardcore Carr fans will find plenty there to love about it.
Brilliant, as usual January 31, 2010 J. B. Rowe (Belfast, UK) Jimmy Carr continues to dish out the hilarious one-liners. If you're a fan of Jimmy, grab this!
